Whilst I often see shags in the harbour, especially near the lifeboat station, this adult shag sat on a mooring buoy was unusual in that it was in its full green breeding plumage.
For comparison here is a cormorant from a few years ago.
This cormorant is slightly different, it's from the (previously) European population that have now colonised inland UK.
