The swans at Radipole Lake seem to have had a much better breeding season this year.
This brood at North Hide is one of five or six such families currently at the lake.
Nearby the ducks seemed preoccupied with something that was splashing around near them.
The splashing turned out to be a group of spawning carp.
On the way back through the reserve this buzzard flew over low, found a thermal and then spiralled up out of sight.
